Some of the words I have written here will hurt those who matter: and for that, I am sorry.
But I cannot lie about what I feel when I write for myself.

These words record a part of my self that I wish to remember.  And so I continue to write: in the hope that in time, my words will bring me to that point where everything is forgiven.

- might war

Hello, and welcome to might war – the online musical.

I have been using pen and paper to record my thoughts and experiences for so long now, that I am unable to state when I first started writing. But outside of messages and gifts, my writing was done for my sole pleasure and fill a number of notebooks that I return to from time to time.

This site is something of an experiment to find out what other people think about my writing and a direct result of my brother-from-another-mother telling me to “share” my writing.

What’s Here

The site is divided into a number of distinct sections.

About: A little bit about me for your reading pleasure – and proof that I am in fact a living, breathing person and not just a figment of my own imagination.

mightwar songs: Housing all the Poetry, Blog, Travelog and Creative
        Writing pieces.

The pieces were written over the last twenty years to date; and are recorded here in chronological order of being written (mostly).

Gallery: A selection of photos that have been taken on my travels through life and geography.

The editors of this site would like to make clear that the views expressed herein are not necessarily the thoughts of sane and otherwise normal people, but are downloaded from the quiet (and sometimes not so quiet) places of my personal cerebrum. Therefore, should anyone perusing the content take offence or dislike to anything they read, please bear in mind that you don’t have to finish reading. You can just close your eyes and turn the page or simply close the browser window.

Comment Policy

As is standard with these things, the site offers you the option to post a comment in relation to the pieces of work. Please note that this is NOT a compulsory activity! If you wish to leave a response, do so. If not, no one will judge you. After all, this is not a test.

I would however, be interested in your thoughts on the work included here and would appreciate it if you would use the Rate This and Like This buttons as the quickest means of leaving an opinion.

Please be brutally honest in your assessments – good, bad or indifferent. I don’t scare easily; and I really do want to hear what YOU have to say about my work.

Just so you know though: I am likely gonna disappoint many of you, as I am not so good at responding to comment messages. Seriously, weeks go by without me opening my emails – and I’ve had the same account for years! I’m gonna try my best to read through all comments left and to respond where necessary, but seeing as I’m currently suffering from a long-term illness that affects my eyesight and movements on a daily basis, this could be a bit of a slow process.

Where to Start?

The Categories section will give you a good introduction to the different elements of work recorded on the site.

After that, it’s up to you. Have a nosey around and stop where the mood takes you.

So feel free to peruse at your leisure, as I present the mumblings and musings of an African immigrant on the interweb. Go on, I dare you …

P.S.: Despite the formidable name, I am quite nice to know; so please feel free to contact me.

This is great! Tell your brother what a great idea :)

If you’ve been writing since you can’t even remember… you are very much a writer. Great to meet you!

Here is something I just discovered recently that you may or may not know about!!!! On the top right hand corner of your screen, when logged into WordPress, there is a little box inbetween “new post” and “your name” (in my case, Yvette). That button will look like a speech bubble, a circle with a + in it or some other thing which I forget what, right now. If you click on that, it will drop you down a list of who has commented recently on your blog, who has liked it, and how many followers etc you have! It’s just awesome and a really quick and easy way to keep up with comments and reply to people etc. :D

Thank you for that. Reading through the manual is slow going – there is just so much that this thing can do!

I know! I am always discovering bits and pieces!!!! I always put my own posts on to Stumbleupon… and I get a few hits from it each time, which is nice. :)

I love your start: the ‘some of the words here,’ comment…I see my blog as that as well. Somehow I suspect I’ve met an extraordinary writer here. Just, something about you.

Thank you redpilloutlaw, you made me blush.

I was a bit rushed this morning and did not answer your question: Many people have burned notebooks over the years…achieving wellness and sobriety…god bless; walk slow and drink a lot of water.

That’s good advice right there. :-)

“My brother, from another mother”. I love that line. Your blog is exceptioanally organized. Very unique. You’ve got an excellent spirit. You have great potentials to make history in blogging. A genius can always be identified even in the pre-mature stages of metamorphosis. You are made for the top. See you there! :)

      Dear teeceecounsel

Thank you for your lovely compliments. The organisation of the blog is simply down to practicality. I suffer short term memory problems due to medication side effects and so I configured it for my needs. I figured that if I could find my way round, then it should hopefully be easy enough for others. I’m still finding my feet with this blogging malarkey, but am intrigued about where it’ll lead. On with the adventure … :D
