I was caught in a delicate web of pain and history that lacerated my heart and refused to allow my thoughts to be distracted from what I was reading.
Here, was a telling that wasn’t simple – just as any life lived is never simple.
Here, darkness and light wrestled for supremacy within the tight confines of a single container; and the weariness of battle stained each goal and perceived failure.
Here, was a tale so fragile, that my hands shook with the responsibility of caring for it – even for this short time.
Your honesty stopped me: made me look fully at you. Made me see a stranger I would never meet, but whose description of self now lay embedded within my memory. One page was all you used to tell me about yourself: about your agony and your dreams; about the will that drove you to put pen to paper.
Your words stopped me; and I had none of my own to offer – to match the gift that you gave.
So bear with me: for as words fall from your eyes, they will find an echo in the tears that fall from mine. And both shall be a celebration of YOU.
Dedicated to: WordsFallFromMyEyes – whose words generated these words. Thank you for sharing; both yourself and your words.
