Weekly Photo Challenge: Illumination

Office Lights

I was walking by an office in the Central Business District of Sydney, Australia when these lights caught my eye. I went in and asked the Security Guard if it was OK that I photographed them. He was rather surprised by the request, but gave me permission.
I guess the people who work there had gotten used to their presence, but I found them dazzling.

I thought they were wonderful and looked like giant snowballs.

This is a close-up of the lights’ structure. I’m still not sure what they are made from, but I can’t help thinking that giant paperclips may have been involved somewhere.

  1. I couldn’t help but giggle at this. I would have done exactly the same thing – wanted to take pics of those lamps. They are amazing – and you caught some great shots! I especially love the second one. Thank you for sharing!

    1. I’m glad that this made you giggle Zen Archeress. It was a cheeky ask I know, but I just had to get a record so I could show them to others. They were at least a metre wide and something about them just ignited a child-like joy in me.
