27.10.’00

From the moment we met, you were precious to me.
You have taught me the truest
understanding of friendship by
acting it out every day of ten years.

You have shown kindness without limit;
tenderness without measure;
faith without question;
and a delight in life that inspires greatness in others.

How then, could I not love You?
You, who have given all.
You, who have upheld others so they could find their glory.
You, who were never afraid of the person I was trying to become.

Know this Gürşen Houssein:
I loved you before I knew you, and
I will love you for all eternity.
You are my beloved:
and ever will I be glad to have known you,
and to call you ‘friend’.

Dedicated to: Gus – playmate, companion, beloved.

SO TELL ME: What do you think of this piece?

  • Did it engage you?
  • Does the meaning come across? Are there any images or lines you don’t understand or find unclear?
  • Are there obvious errors in spelling, punctuation or grammar?
  • Do you have any suggestions for revision?

Please be brutally honest in your assessments – good, bad or indifferent.
I don’t scare easily; and I really do want to hear what YOU have to say about my work.

Many thanks in advance for your time and your criticism.
