After Effects of the Custard Game

After-Effects of the Custard Game

At a Halloween party last year, I had the joy of watching people playing “The Custard Game”. Each team of players nominates a representative. That person is then stood at the table where they are faced with a large plastic bowl full to the brim with cold custard.

The object of the game is for each person to push their faces into the bowl and to use their mouths to locate the sweets and other seasonally-related items that have been hidden within it and drop them onto the tabletop. – NO HANDS ALLOWED! The first person to find all their items is declared the winner.

This is a very good game as the spectators really get into cheering the players on; and at one point, someone thought that pushing their teammate’s face to the bottom of the bowl was helpful!!

This is the winner. She seemed unable to stop laughing once she had come up for air.

Of course, the joy of getting so dirty is that you can share it with others.

This piece was written and submitted as part of WordPress.com’s Weekly Writing Challenge. The writing challenges are designed to “help you to push your writing boundaries, show off your blogging chops, and, hopefully, spark more post ideas”. The posts should be specifically written in response to the challenge set.

This week’s challenge was to provide “a photo of someone looking truly happy. Then we want to know why: what’s going on in the photo? What are you (or they) thinking about at the exact moment?” You can see how other bloggers responded to the challenge, on Truth Is Stranger Than Fiction
