Inside I’m Dancing

There are parts of ourselves that are so well known to us, that they become an essential part of defining who we are and how we feel about our person.

My body … my physical self, is that to me.

That is why this illness has had such a great impact on my sense of well-being.

As someone who has spent most of her life in communion with her body, this disorder has felt like a personal affront.

But I have been given a wonderful gift, Ladies and Gentleman. An old friend contacted me and asked if she could choreograph a dance to Muffled – the piece I wrote about the illness’ impact on my relationship to my body.

And here it is:

Thank you so much, M. Because I am no longer able to dance through my body, I have been relying on dancing through my words.

Thank you for allowing us to borrow your body to speak whilst my physical self and I cannot.

  1. Tears…..! The piece was very touching and made even more so, because of what it meant to you!!! I don’t know how I would cope if I couldn’t DANCE, and I thought of you many times in IBIZA this past week. I danced till my legs physically gave way and I honour you with every step I took;;;;, for and on behalf of one of the most beautiful and amazing people I have the privilege to know…..! Love you ALWAYS. (David Nadauld) xxx.
