About

I am might war.

I was born in Ghana, West Africa – where I spent my early years.  I emigrated to England in the early 1980s.

My nuclear family is made up of four of the most incredible and inspirational people I have ever had the blessing and pleasure to meet and get to know.

I have a love of music, the written word, travel, Anime, polar bears, people and “sticking and colouring”.

Growing up, I wanted to be either an Aero Systems Engineer (aeroplane mechanic) or a Nun (I look fabulous in black and was tantalised by the idea that you could be so sure of something, that you would dedicate your life to it).

My career path has specialised in working with children and adults with “complex needs” and “challenging behaviour”.
This has left me with a full library of stories involving public nudity; used parachutes; chasing wayward children around urban and rural areas on three continents; teaching people in their 50s how to roll down hills; bodily excretions – the best of which involves dog shit in handbags; and people trying to stab me with plastic cutlery.

Somehow, I have been given gold for a partner.  I’m not sure how this happened; because from an early age, I knew that I would grow up to be everyone’s favourite spinster Aunt who was good with other people’s children.

One more thing: All the above statements are in fact true. When I came to draft my introduction, I realised that there was no need to invent interesting things to amuse you with – life has been plenty interesting enough. 😀

Yours sincerely,

P.S.: To get to know me better, Spastic … and sh!t is a fuller introduction. Or you can try some facts.
P.P.S: Despite the formidable name, I am quite nice to know; so please feel free to contact me.

    1. Nice to meet you too SiviPanda; and you’re very welcome. I’m taking some time to go out and explore the other wonderful blogs out there: it’s adventuring time for the eye, the mind and the imagination.

  1. i love your “about” page! your job sounds quite… interesting! the “dog shit and plastic cutlery” sounds like a good icebreaker story to tell at parties. 🙂

    1. Thank you Scotty. Although I tend to leave stories about work until after the snacks have been cleared away – otherwise I’d never be invited out again. 😉

  2. Hello and thank you for the comment on my blog, a further fibro fellowship suffer, its nasty isnt it? I am in the middle of a terrible relapse at the moment as well as the osteoarthritis is trying its best to make me scream, having been up half the night doped up with enough pain killers to drive the local junkie to a mental break down. But I have a fabulous doctor who supports me to the point of phoning me at home. Please don’t be a stranger, your welcome to email any time. take care 🙂 Keep smiling the fibro beast hates peple who smiles 😀

    1. Hey there Pete,
Thanks for coming to visit. Yeah, the Fibromyalgia just waltzed through my pain threshold as though it didn’t exist. I thought I knew pain, but I have been reeducated and now have a healthy respect for it. I’m glad that you have a good doctor because that can make a real difference. I hope that the relapse doesn’t last too long.

      1. Do you know on my tablet I cannot see the notifications it just shows blank so I am sorry I never replied I hope you are well. I have had a break all week but I am back to normal on Monday back to work, I have to plan a new website for http://www.dunnottarcastle.co.uk/ I am taking over the IT contract so wish me luck 🙂

    1. You’re too kind, Michele. I’ve been having a lot of fun learning to blog and playing around with the toys that the site provides. I’m glad that it shows. 🙂

  3. Thank you for visiting my blog. If my photo made you laugh, I’m happy 🙂
Reading your story gave a new dimension to my little troubles: I can’t complain any more.
You have strength and courage to face life. I wish you all the best 🙂

    1. I enjoyed the visit, Blutriskell. That shot hits the funny bone every time.

I thank you for your wishes, but don’t feel you can’t complain. I’ve spent my life working with people in worse situations than I am. Dang it, I have friends in worse situations than I am. That doesn’t stop me from speaking out my frustrations. Our pain is vital and requires voicing as the expression of it helps us manage it better. So complain away if it helps you.

  4. Hi! I just came across to your nice blog…it’s so interesting! I’ll follow you from now on. Nice to meet you “might war”. Besides journalism and photography I have also a love of music, I’m a rocker ;-))) Have a great weekend.

  5. Congratulations! I’ve just nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. This award is given to those who show a love of Blogging in their work, and I think you do that. It’s up to you if you want to accept this award or not, but I hope you’ll at least go to my post here: http://gardeningingreenwood.wordpress.com/2014/01/08/the-versatile-blogger-award/ and read it to see what the award is all about and make your decision. In any event, Thank You for a wonderful blog and I wish you all the best in the future.
