has been 398 days since I started my adventures in blogging.
To celebrate the joy of discovering a new way to heal myself with words, I present this short film.
This piece was written and submitted as part of WordPress.com’s Weekly Writing Challenge. The writing challenges are designed to “help you to push your writing boundaries, show off your blogging chops, and, hopefully, spark more post ideas”. The posts should be specifically written in response to the challenge set.
This week’s challenge was to “celebrate and use the online tools we have and create a multimedia post”. You can see how other bloggers responded to the challenge, on Multimedia Storytelling.

AUTHOR: I am might war. I have a love of music, the written word, travel, Anime, polar bears, people and “sticking and colouring”.
Some stories don’t fit inside
a person’s mouth. Some stories
just have to tell themselves.
– mightwar: Unspoken
At the age of fourteen, I made a promise to myself.
I promised that I would never lie to myself about what I feel – even if I lied to others.
It was a significant moment in my life.
I had spent the afternoon perched on a windowsill, weighing the pros and cons of committing suicide.
That promise was a culmination of hours of processing: a decision about how I chose to face the trials that tested my spirit and left me mute.

Recently, I received my first blog award.
Billie of willeke73.wordpress.com nominated me for the Liebster award (Thank you kindly).
The Liebster award is given to up-and-coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers.
But what is a Liebster? It seems the award started in Germany sometime in late 2010. The best clarification I have been able to find is by Eric Jackson; who writes, “At the core, blogging is all about getting the word out. Rubbing elbows with your peers is a great way to do that. The best part about the Liebster, is that there is no award. It is a matter of networking”.
Basically, if you are nominated, you’ve been awarded the Liebster award. It is up to you if you want to accept it and/or pass it on. Your nominations should be blogs that you read or follow regularly; bloggers that you consider to be excellent.
You’ll probably notice that my response does not strictly adhere to the award rules, but I’ve had to make amendments to match my abilities at this time.

Dear Lovely People,
Today, mightwar is 3 months old!!
Now some people would consider that I am getting ahead of myself, but this is a milestone I intend to celebrate.
After 549 days of suffering an affliction that mystifies medical professionals, I finally became able to put pen to page about my experience. I put Muffled up on Facebook and Mr. T (my brother from another mother) suggested that I “share” my writing. On 24th October 2012, he sent me the link to WordPress and I entered into a whole new world that I was unaware even existed!

The start of a New Year is traditionally a time to reflect on the changes we want or need to make. I have been thinking about what a delightful surprise blogging and this website have been. It has provided me with a regular creative outlet, introduced me to people from around the world and brought intriguing and thought-provoking articles to my attention.

And so it came to pass that nary thirty minutes after might war commented on technology hating her (see: Blogging … and sh!t), Lo and Behold! … the b!stard starts playing silly b!ggers and removes the Featured Image from several posts for reasons inexplicable to all but those dwelling within the heavenly realms.

OK. So I took my brother-from-another-mother’s advice and set up this site to “share” my writing. This meant that after walking round WordPress, I decided to go ahead and set up a website.
I mean, it’s not like I’m doing much these days.
Besides convulsing, throwing up, freaking people out and trying really, really hard to keep soiling myself down to a once-a-week performance, my diary’s pretty empty.
There then followed a couple of weeks of wrestling with the computer to make it do what the Support pages said it should do.
